Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime.

  • A third space is a community gathering place that exists outside of home (the “first space”) and work or school (the “second space”). It’s the in-between space where people come together to connect, relax, and build relationships. Third spaces are important because they create opportunities for neighbors to meet one another, share stories, and strengthen community ties in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. Unlike a classroom, office, or store, there’s no expectation to spend money or accomplish a task. It’s simply a place to belong.

  • The Root is for everyone. Teens looking for after-school activities, seniors with stories to share, parents wanting to connect, or neighbors curious about what’s happening—all are welcome here. The Root is designed to feel like a “neighborhood living room” and a place that’s comfortable, creative, and shaped by the people who use it.

  • We are planning to open our doors in spring 2026. In the meantime, you can subscribe for updates to stay connected and follow our progress!
